Hoppin Bobbin E News

We have all been very busy getting ready for our shop hop coming up in March and preparing for the Lancaster Quilt show the end of March.  The quilt machine has been running non stop and we've been receiving quite a few quilts to have quilted.  The cold weather seams to have encouraged everyone to stay in and sew on their UFO projects!  I know that I have been sewing almost everyday trying to get new samples done for classes, clubs and writing new patterns.
I've been a little slow on getting our a newsletter, my apologies to everyone, there has been a lot in my schedule lately.
Check out all of the new stuff coming up!  And if you haven't been in to see our new facility, come and visit!

Kelly, Elisabeth, Barb and of course Tootsie too!

Accurate cutting and pressing techniques
A square quilt starts at the beginning and that is at the cutting table.  Using your rulers correctly, and having rulers that you can read, is of the utmost importance.  Let us show you during this demo the use of several different types of rulers to get better accuracy.  We will also cover some basic pressing techniques, for logical reasons in pressing, that the pattern you are using may not tell you.

Diamonds in the Sky with Sharon Riley
Diamonds in the Sky is a brilliant high contrast quilt. The Corner Beam blocks used throughout the design give you an alternating diamond illusion that simply radiates beauty. While we made our Diamonds in the Sky project with a medley of bright fat quarters for our stars, you could use 6” strips or scraps of bright fabric to make this a dynamite stash-buster project.
