Hoppin Bobbin Newsletter

Hoppin Bobbin is currently accepting donations of fabric and batting for the Faithful Fidgeting Friends Quilting Group from First Baptist Church in Elkton.  This group is making lap quilts for wheelchair bound residents and walker bags for residents, using a walker, at the Laurelwood Nursing Home.  If you have an excess of "stash" that you would like to donate, please drop it off at Hoppin Bobbin and we will make sure it gets to this group.  We have had several of you ask for places to donate to for great causes.  This is a great cause to help those in our community.

OCTOBER CLASSES AND EVENTS

No Diamonds in the Sky
with Cheryl Travis
NO DIAMONDS, NO Y SEAMS. Half square triangle units and background squares are pieced into simple sections and then the sections pieced together to make the quilt's center. Complicated looking results with a simple technique. Finishes to 92in X 92in.

This is a 2 session class
Saturday, October 20th from 10-2
and Saturday, October 27th  10-4

We still have a couple spaces left for this class

Thursday, November 8th from 6-8pm
with Mary Annunziata

Galaxy
Galaxy is a beautiful alternating block design using two types of blocks, one with a red star and one with a blue star. Because of the color placement and the different angles in the triangles, the interesting interlocking circles appear and the second star block disappears into the circles. It’s a fun optical illusion, easy to make and even easier to admire.   Sharon will also have an additional setting option for a table topper available.
