Hoppin Bobbin E News
The last few weeks have been a whirlwind with lots of quilting going on, wedding preparations with my daughter and a quilt show. I have to admit that it was really nice to be able to go to NC and visit with my daughter for 4 days. She had quite a bit for me to do as I made 12 table arrangements and 5 wreaths for the wedding. Mom went with me and worked on alterations for Erin's dress. It was such a fun time and I am so glad to see my daughter so happy. On a work note, I have been busy, busy quilting and trying to get the studio in order. Unfortunately, I keep putting off working in the extra room and trying to get that mess put away. It will have to get tackled soon, I think it is starting to get dangerous walking through there. It amazes me the amount of sample quilts that I have collected over the years. I've set David to work on an Etsy shop to try and part with them or it will be a very generous Christmas for some friends and family. LOL On a personal note, please pray for Elisabeth and her family. Her Mom suffered a stroke the end of October. Elisabeth has been in Cleveland since and is hoping to come home today after her mom gets out of Rehab. Her mom has been doing well but will have a long road to recovery. If you need to get in touch with me, you can contact me through email at info@hoppinbobbin.com, call or text 410-272-2226. Look forward to hearing from you. I'm off to do some quilting, writing some new patterns and uggghhh tackling that extra storage room. Hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving!!! Kelly |

Fat Quarters Log Cabin Class with Kelly DavisMar 28, 2020, 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Lancaster
2400 Willow Street Pike, Lancaster, PA 17602, USA Unlike Scrappy Log Cabin Quilts the Fat Quarter Log Cabin requires only 5 fabrics. Using Fat Quarters (which we all seem to collect) and combing layout and sewing techniques, from the 1800’s, with Rulers and cutting techniques from the 21st century you will be able to make fabulous Log Cabin blocks, cutting 4 blocks at a time in a matter of minutes! Use 1 set of Fat Quarters to make a wallhanging, table runner or pillow tops, use 4 sets to make a Log Cabin Star or Twin size. Nine Sets will make a Queen/Double or 16 sets to make a King. Once you’ve mastered the cutting and sewing, I believe you will find, you can easily make four blocks in as little as 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Join me in learning how to make this ageless block and learn tips on grainlines, pressing and sewing techniques that will improve all of your quilting skills. In class we will cut and make 4 blocks. |
